Certifications
At Pacific Gear, our products adhere to highly regarded certifications for apparel production. Learn more about our certifications below.
Wind Mill Powered
Our apparel is produced in factories which use Suzlon 1250 wind power. Accordingly, using environment friendly power demonstrates our approach towards producing fashion in a way which respects our climate.

Socially Responsible
Our production facilities implement the SA8000 Social Accountability Management System, FLO (Fair-trade Labeling Organizations), and FLOCERT (social auditing for Fair-trade). These organizations work towards removing poverty affecting most farmers and workers in the world, through setting/certifying the compliance of strict, socially responsible production standards.
WRAP Certified
Our apparel is produced in WRAP (Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production) certified factories, which represent industry examples of social responsibility to their employees. The WRAP certification is a sophisticated facility-based model which has become the world’s largest independent social compliance certification program for the apparel and textile industry.
WRAP ensures all facilities are in compliance with their 12 principles. These principles include: ensuring facilities will comply with laws and regulations in all locations where they conduct business, facilities will prohibit forced labour, child labour, discrimination, and harassment/abuse, focusing on fair compensation and benefits, fair hours worked, and a focus on health and safety.
The other principles include freedom of association and collective bargaining, comply with environmental and customs rules, and ensure security for the workplace.

ELS Cotton
The method of ginning used in our cotton production is related to the length of the cotton fibers, called staples.
Short staple cotton measuring between 3/8” and 15/16”, is commonly used because of its easier requirements. However, we use Extra Long Staple (ELS) cotton, with fibers ranging between 1-3/16” to 2-1/2.”
Accordingly, ELS cotton requires unique spinning and weaving techniques, as the staple length increases. Yet, this results in the softer and silkier cotton, which you will find in our apparel.
It is important for the fiber length to be maintained through the ginning, spinning, and weaving process, as longer fiber length results in smoother surfaces with fewer exposed fiber ends.
Therefore, ELS cotton will not pill or tear as much and may even become softer over time.
ELS cotton is ginned on roller gins which operate at lower speeds compared to traditional short staple cotton. This method is used to gently separate the fibre from the seed.
Note: ELS Cotton will only be available in our t-shirts, which will be available at a later date.
GOTS Certified Organic Cotton
The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is the leading standard for textile processing in organic fibres across the globe. GOTS is backed by an independent certification for the entire textile supply chain. This standard is used to recognize the organic nature of the supply chain process from the harvesting of raw materials to environmentally and socially responsible manufacturing. Our GOTS Organic Cotton is free from toxic dyes, pesticides, and formaldehyde.

OEKO-TEX® Certified
The OEKO-TEX® certification ensures that the results of apparel dyeing and wet-processing does not negatively affect humans or the health of our environment. OEKO-TEX® certificates are exclusively issued by neutral and independent testing institutes. OEKO-TEX® uses strict testing criteria which is globally standardized and updated annually from new scientific information or statutory requirements.
OEKO-TEX® certification traces the materials used in our apparel and ensures no harmful chemicals are involved which could damage the environment.
